couple of things

Post by smokie »

Well, been awhile but the cases on the 380 are sealed back up. First off, is there any reason a hole would be drilled in the side of a crankcase bolt? Nothing in the manual mentions a special bolt of any kind and this bolt snapped when we torqued it. Sooo... upon extracting this bolt my buddy (ill call him "Tom", to protect the drunk and ignorant) drilled through the wrong hole and took out one of the plastic plugs in the bottom of the crankcase under the right outer bearing. How much trouble am I in? Image

Just clean the hole really well and fill it with our favorite JBWeld. Heat the JB with a hair dryer after putting it in the hole to release all air bubbles. Put tape on the inside of the hole to keep it in place.

I have no idea about that bolt; it almost looks like a banjo bolt.

Lane
If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

Oh Oh, youve got termites in your engine, they ate through a bolt shaft, actually it looks like a P.O drilled the bolt by accident for some reason, why??? you ask, well your friend Tom drilled out a plug too,, by accident.
AFAIK theres no special bolt there and Lanes JB weld case fix is a good one too.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Thanks, I agree that bolt didnt look right but as I was gathering the bolts up I didnt notice the hole. What I dont get is why someone would even do that.

Tap the hole and screw a plug in.
