The thing to keep in mind when you remove the OEM pump is that you have to seal off the hole in the lower crankcase half. A simple way is to use the pump body and insert a plug.
You could also do it by plugging both passageways from the front of the crankcase to the pump.

Standard ones work fine, why bother doing it different?
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Ive taken the starter clutch off as I convert to a race motor, so no internal pump drive now.

And no tacho drive, but an electronic one is probably better anyway.
An alternative is to lighten the starter clutch drive gear which is easy and cheap (free) ...
