clutch basket fin broke off
While trying to remove my clutch basket, I slipped and broke one of the little fins off the clutch basket right at the base. Is this repairable? Does anyone have an extra basket laying around they don't need?

You need another basket. If it makes you feel better, I've done that before too.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Figured as much. I ordered one on ebay. Ended up getting two completes clutch assemblies for $60. He didn't want to separate them, so I bought both. One is an 18 tooth basket with all the plates, etc and the other is the 12 tooth basket and all the plates. Figure I'll use the best one and sell the other.

If nobody's already told you, rivet a couple of old metal clutch plates to a length of bar stock to make yourself a clutch holding tool. If the bar stock is long enough, you can wedge it against the footpeg so you can use both hands when loosening/tightening the big nut in the middle.
