WTB GT 750 forks and brake caliper

Post by vmxwinn »

Looking to buy a set of 750 forks and a left caliper for a dual disk conversion on my GT550. Anyone have any of these parts they want to part with I would much appreciate it. Send me a PM.

Thanks

Which model 550 do you have? The later ones have the correct legs and the middle ones need the left only.you will also need a new master cylinder for twin discs - marked 'D' underneath. Suzuki GS calipers and M/S fit too.

I have a 74'. It was Spamy's bike that I bought not long ago.

One of my fork tubes has some pitting so i want to replace it. Also I want the stiffer 750 springs as my front end is to soft.

What GS calipers bolt on? Or is there even a newer caliper that bolts on for better stopping power?

And with the master cylinder I'm going to try a 13mm bore unit with braided lines. Trying to get read of that wooden feeling. Got my eye on a few disks, ebay. Thx

Try CBR600F2 (?) disk on spacers plus SV650 calipers on adapters.

http://pinkpossum.com/GT750/phattrakka2/p5brakes.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that was the first iteration but hard to get the welded extension completely flat, so they have been replaced with simple aluminum adapters.

Thanks Guys for the replies. TZ375 that is a great link! So CBR600 F2 rotors look like a good way to go. Loose weight and better friction coefficient sounds

I was looking at several of my bikes in the garage measuring the caliper bolt spread. The GT has a spread of 75mm. KTM Brembo's have a 64mm spread, and has a fat flat forged mounting bracket that looks like it can easily redrilled and tapped to a new location. Might work well.

Still need 750 forks though for the left side caliper mount.

I've got a pair of GS1000 calipers and also m/s on the GT550. Late type 550 forks.
I believe GS750 calipers fit too. The left GT750 calipers are not commonly found as the 550 owners buy them to double up!
