side Cover Badges
Attempted to put my side cover badges on today. I bought 4 of the OEM clips as all the pegs in the badges are good. Apparently these little clips missed heat treat of they weren't made from spring steel..You can push them on, but they don't grab. They just take a 'set' and fall right off. I'm thinking of putting some JB Weld on the pins on the back side of the cover, but I hate to make them that permanent. I have also heard of people using double sided tape, but I'm not fond of that idea either. Anyone here used an alternative method of retaining the badges that worked? These clips are worthless.
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: side Cover Badges
The clips somewhat work. But, they are a one and done deal. Even new they don't hold the badges very firm. I used black atv silicone in addition to using the clips being the back of my covers are black. It hard enough, but yet soft enough that I could dremel it away easily if you ever chose to. Apply it very lightly under, around and on top of clips. JB weld is too hard in reference to not damaging the badges pins if you ever wanted to remove them. Atv silicone is slightly spongy. Liquid gasket maker would be a good choice also. Would hold badges firmly, yet easily removable. Any silicone would work. Not only are those clips not very effective, the damn things are expensive. Resorted to silicone many of times. Works like a charm.

Re: side Cover Badges
Put a thread on the stalks and use a washer and nut on them (very gently).
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
