It was great meeting you, Ralph! Your bike rocks! I definitely want to try that out some day, it looks like a blast. The weather was fantastic. I thought it was going to be a roaster out there, but it wasn't too bad at all. I wish I had taken pictures of your bike, but I wasn't even thinking camera when I was checking it out.
I was happy with my bike making the 240 mile round trip (the most I've ridden in a day so far) without so much as a hiccup.
Rob, was that your GT750 parked next to Ralphs pit? That thing is AWESOME.

That was a fun day!
It was a fun day. I flew down from San Carlos (just south of San Francisco) and hitched a ride over to the races. Hitched a ride back to the airport and was home just after dark. I took some pictures of the bikes there. If anyone is interested it is the last 15 pictures in this album:

The only picture I got of Ralph's bike was the one of his coming down the front straight.

Willow Springs Race Report
What a great weekend at Willow Springs, super great weather in the 80’s, the wild flowers a bloomin’, and great racing.
Friday practice saw me attempting to get the T20 running and on the track but to no avail, couldn’t get spark to the right cylinder. Troubleshooting started at the coils and checking every connection back to the Newtronic module saw no change in voltage to fire the coil. I checked the optical triggers and they were switching, so I figured it must be the module. I should have pulled the module first, because when I did the rattling sound of the components inside meant that things were no longer “solid state!â€

Random first response....

"the wild flowers a bloomin"
As I flew into the Antelope Valley from Tehachapi, there were sections that were Construction Cone Orange. Like someone had colored the desert with an orange Crayola Crayon. Literally square miles of it. It was the flowers. I wish I'd taken a picture, but I was so busy trying to figure out what it was, I didn't have time to grab the camera.

We drove home on CA138 west to the grape vine, the surrounding countryside was unreal with all the poppies. When we left Willow springs the hills off to the distant were glowing orange, there were lot's of folks taking photos.krwalsh wrote:Like someone had colored the desert with an orange Crayola Crayon. I figured it was in honor of Shoemaker Vintage Racing's official team color!!!

1971 Suzuki T500 Racer For Sale
Buddy sent this to me, seems like a heck of a deal for a seemingly sorted T500 vintage racer.

So here's the opportunity for less that $2K to be on the grid at Mid-O this year. Any takers?
As a point of reference in case anyone wants to know, I spent 4X this amount to build mine.

My T20 road racer pics
So pics of my T20 racer. I got it completed for Willow Springs but couldn't get it running, I fried the ignition module somehow and had spark to only one cylinder.
