my compression was 125-130 each cylinder with the motor hot.
voltage to the coils are around 10.5 for each.

does this sound ok?

i also checked my points and they are not arcing.

i think i figured out it was my right cylinder that wasnt firing consistently at idle, and i thought oh maybe its bad fuel flow. thats the carb furthest from the petcock and thats the one that goes out when im running out of fuel. but that doesnt make sense, since it only happens at idle. it would be more of an issue when there was more fuel consumption at higher speeds.

i have no idea what to check for now.

i can set the idle at 1500 and it fires inconsistently ,than after about ten minutes of riding it sits at 3000 and i have to back the idle adj back down to 1500. so i assume once it warms up it idles higher but it seems to take longer than usual to warm up and idle at the proper range.

i tried to do an airleak test but i cant get it to idle consistently (word of the day) to feel good about it. but it seems alright.

i should also ad, my intake boots are wrapped up in some crap from the guy i got it from.indicating there was once an issue. i remember checking it before for leaks and there werent any. i dont want to keep throwing money at this bike without knowing for sure im fixing a problem. ive alread unnecessarily dumped too much $ into trouble shooting this thing.

i know thats the nature of the beast, but im looking for some insight, thanks for the ideas thus far.

i havent done a carb sync w my manometer yet. but i set the throttle heights to spec.

Compression sounds OK but that voltage is a little low.
