Thanks
I just replaced all the seals and O rings on my pump and it's really not a big deal except now the left side lines aren't getting oil.

The seal replacement is easy enough. You pull the small 3 screws off the top and remove the tach drive. Then you carefully take some pliers and grab the aluminum collar and twist it a little bit and pull at the same time. Here is a link to a picture that was sent to me by gyrocfi.

everything went fine and I got it back together. After starting the bike I now have no leaks but I also don't have any oil to the left side of the motor.

Do any of the oil pump experts have any ideas as to what I might have done wrong?

Now for the really bad news....and some advice.

The is a 10mm hex head bolt on top of the pump. In my case it says 3.9 but I don't know what it is. The bolt is there to hold a shaft in place. No here is the advice....IT IS A LEFT HAND THREAD!! If you try to take it out and it doesn't move don't apply more pressure. I'm not on the hunt for a left had Heli-coil type thread insert. I've found LH american threaded inserts but no luck yet with the metric sizes. :(

But if you've got some advice on why there is no oil to the left side, I'm all ears.

Mike, I am in the process of rebuilding my pump Lucky I had 2 pumps & I also discovered about the left hand thread the same way as you!! Where did you get the lower seal from? I got part number 09284-10002 which is the part number of the clutch push peice & the seal is too big!

Not sure about your left side oil line problem as the design of the pump looks simple. Could it be a blockage some where?

That's a great picture Rusty, thanks.

I got my lower seal when I bought one of those kits off eBay. I probably paid to much but I was tired of messing around and sourcing the seals. Originally, I got the top seal from a local bearing house and it was a very tight fit. I was going to go with the clutch seal but now you're saying it's to big. Interesting, thanks.

I've been trying to source a LH helicoil and found one but the whole kit with 10 inserts was over $450!!! Unbelievable. Not a big call for them I'd say.

Instead, I bought a pretty ugly pump off eBay that I'll take apart, clean and rebuild. In your picture I don't see the lever and shaft that the cable hooks to. If I recall, I thought that was held in place by a roll pin. Did you take that out?

Hi Mike, yes I did not remove the pin I kept the lever & shaft in place.
I was able to get a new top seal which I am happy with the fit etc.
As far as the lower seal goes it looks like i will have to get the kit of ebay :(
