Stainless socket allen hex key head bolts
In perusing the ebay ads I have found several kits with stainless bolts that have socket allen hex key heads. I think these look really nice, and I like the stainless finish. Of course there are none of the bolts with the sleeves that are used on the head bolts.
My boyfriend is a machinist and is going to make up a set of stainless, sleeved head bolts with the hex key heads. Would there be any interest in the GT community for these? He makes screws for the Zumo GPS' that he sells all over the world, so he likes making speciality items like this.

I let him know others are interested and let him figure out the price. Once he makes a set I will post a picture so everyone can see what they look like.

I'll have to check out Phil Denton's stuff. My boyfriend said that his equipment won't do a "cosmetically pleasing" internal hex, as they don't have the special tool holders and tooling to do do. So, they would have to be like the ones that are already on the bike, but of course in stainless steel. The stock itself to produce the bolts would be about $50, plus time and such. Still checking into it.

Hmmmm....the trick here will be to find a stainless material that is ALSO rated the same as the original bolts regarding tensile strength and yield strength. A lot of those fleabay kits use low grade low tensile strength stainless stock for the raw material and so the end product is only suitable for cosmetic items like clutch covers, sprocket covers and things like that.
I would sriously think twice before using those fleabay kits for anything substantial like fork pinch bolts, engine case bolts, handlebar holddown bolts and suchlike.
Phil Denton has an excellent rep in the UK resto market and is slowly gaining a rep with the rest of the world's enthusiasts. Evidently he's a very painstaking guy and knows his materials as well as understanding the way those materials are used on bikes.
