Heck...Me Too!!!!
Work has finally slowed...a little but just got a house here in Ohio and the movers are supposed to show at the GA house on the 10th... I hope to be settled in by the end of the month and hope I can start it moving again...
Is there enough space between the studs to do that? On our 750's it's a real pain to get the extra port area that they need and almost all the studs are in the wrong places.
Remember the RG250 Gamma? They had crankcase reeds and piston ported cylinders and worked rather well as I recall. Not as good as teh later RGV but my son's bike was faster than my RD400 and a heck of a lot easier to ride fast. Of ocurse that one had a cute aluminum frame, but that's another story.

When centered, the studs are about 5mm inside the box on each side so I have to blend around them. Once the boxes are mounted I will probably rough in the port with a mill then blend by hand... (Translation - there are way too many chances to screw this up considering my track record)
Tom , when i did mine i did most of the hard grinding to the cylinder before i mounted up the boxes , it sure made it easier to get into the port with the grinder and files
Bolt on boxes would make our 750 conversions a whole lot simpler Dave.
I'll have to look at mine and see if it's feasible at this late stage. I may have to weld on a "flange to drill through, but that would probably be easier than welding the boxes straight onto the rear face of the block.
