Scenario. I took RedZone out for a spin - still trying to get the carbs set right. It was running lousy so I decided to make some air screw adjustments. I rode it home and pulled in the driveway. I parked on the side stand because the Bassannis (sp) do no allow a center stand to be fitted.
Opened the garage and got my long screwdriver. Made the adjustments, then stood up, flipped on the ignition and hit the starter button. Some idiot (yours truly) left the bike in gear. When I hit the go button the bike just lunged forward and fell over on it's left side. Thank god it didn't start.
Fortunately damage was minimal. The foot peg took most of the brunt when she fell. The only real damage I have is some concrete rash on the generator cover. Should be easy enough to polish out next time I have it off for some reason.
Moral #1. Always look at the neutral light you bonehead.
Moral #2. You have no control over the bike if you are not sitting on it.
OHhhh NOoooooo. I dumped it.

crap Chris,
I thought you had "really" dumped it, like at 65 mph on a 4-lane.
Glad it was just your own stupidy in your driveway, which all of us have a real been through, instead of a real emergency.

Glad it wasn't more serious, Coyote. We've all had those "moments" and fortunately yours only had minor consequences.
