Cya, errr seat

Post by TC »

Looking for info on seat covers, are they all the same or are some better than others? Please share your experiences and difficulties with installing them yourself. I would like to try to install one myself. Would prefer one with the Suzuki GT logo, but would compromise If there was a big difference in price. Thanks,

tc

By far the best, most authentic seat covers come from Rick Brett in the UK. They are around $70 with free shipping. All covers have the Suzuki logo and some have the GT included - depending on the bike.

He doesn't show the Suzuki stuff online but he has them. Replacement foams for the GT's as well. Drop him an email with your needs.

My seat cover experience is with my trusty J model seat. I acquired one of
Tony O'Conners covers from Australia, and you can't tell it from factory.
Uncanny quality, and not too tough to install myself. He provided one for
my first year round case Ducati that is equally exact. He hunts all over
the world to find the right texture of vinyl to do the exact duplication.
He is known as Eldorado Seat Covers, but he has moved to a new location
since I dealt with him. Maybe one of the members from down under will
know how to contact him. It is worth the effort. Cheers.

IIRC, his old email still works. I contacted him shortly after he got moved into his new place and he replied in about a week.....but the delay was due to him getting all his stuff sorted out and set up. He kindly apologized for the delay in replying.
I've seen Fred's J Buffalo seat cover from Eldorado AND compared it with the original and I couldn't tell the difference....except the new cover's vinyl material seemed to be far superior to the original in texture/feel and obvious quality. All other details, including the diamond pattern etc, were IDENTICAL.
I was amazed, to say the least, at the low price that Tony actually charges for such a quality product.
As for Rick Brett, I have purchased 2 covers for H2s from him and had one of them installed professionally. They are visually identical to the original covers and, in that respect, are perfect. However, the quality of the actual vinyl is not of the same order as what Tony at Eldorado uses, IMO.
If you want authenticity AND durability, I'd deal with Eldorado. I know I will be for my next purchase.

Thanks Rick, for the vote of confidence. I knew our 39 year friendship
would come in handy someday. Cheers.
