Yes those embossed caliper emblems made of aluminum came out on the 73s first and by the end of the 76s they were history. Somewhere in between there they went to a flat piece of aluminum before the cheapo switch to mylar film.
The same time those strips were embossed, the ones on the points and generator covers also looked the same way to match them.
I peeled a few of those embossed ones AND the later flat ones in aluminum off of some early calipers i had restoring and saved them, but their condition is not the best..
FWIW Some of the brake res caps ive seen with a printed plastic disc inserted into a lip on the top of the cap. This was sometime between the 'S' cap of the 73 and the first 74s.
Anyone got more info on this???
Dont even begin with the two long caliper bolts on this topic, theres at least three to four variations in design.

Sorry, gents, but those brake warning labels are stamped Mylar.....rather than embossed. They probably switched to silksceened ones later because it's cheaper and faster than stamping them....and easier/cheaper to make changes as well.
