GT250 oil pump questions

Hello everyone!

I just purchased a '77 GT250 that sat in storage for a long time. I checked the oil pump, cleaned the lines, primed the pump by cracking the banjo on the feed line til there was no air, because the actual bleeder seemed to just force air into the line, then I got it running, and assumed it would send oil to all of the lines and purge them.

What seems to have happened instead is I could see it pumping out of the pump when I took the banjo bolts off of the pump side, left the feed on and kicked it. It also seemed to push oil into the lines as they started with no oil in them and lots of air and now I can see the oil in the part leading to the junction with no air, but I spun the engine over with a drill, pulled the one banjo connector I could get at on the left most side and nothing came out. Does this mean there's an issue with the lines or the check valve?

If you remove oil lines from pump, install banjo bolt with nut to line, you can use an oil squirt can or syringe to push oil through banjo bolt and lines checking if they are open. You can also use a different color oil to make flow more obvious.
You never want to use compressed air through lines, it will damage check valves.
