Hi again
I am splitting the cases and have everything ready, all bolts removed etc. Do I have to remove the rotor to split the cases? I don't have the puller tool. I have prised it open but the crank lifts with the lower case. Is it just a seal stuck to the case or must the rotor come off?
Thanks Dave
BTW, Hopefully everyone had a good Christmas and all the best for the New Year...

Re: alternator rotor
The cases should be able to separate without removing rotor. I would think it is like you said, a seal holding crank in case.

Re: alternator rotor
Thank you, it came off finally and I have the crank out. I have also ordered a Haynes manual. Unlike the Kawasaki where the shift forks are in the top case with the transmission, these are in the bottom. The Suzuki manual does not clearly tell me how to put it back together.

Re: alternator rotor
Well, surprise , surprise. After watching a youtube vid of re-assembling the lower end, it seems that the Kawasaki way is NOT the Suzi way. I turned the engine upside down and removed the bottom case. It seems that I should have done the opposite. I find that the Suzuki shop manual does not give great detailed instructions as to how to do things. No real big whoop. I can put everything in the bottom and then do it correctly. This does explain how I will get the shift forks on too from the bottom.
