Mechanic needed in or near San Antonio Texas

Post by motokeb »

Does anyone have a good two stroke mechanic recommendation for South Texas? I live in San Antonio but would be willing to drive to Austin or possibly Houston for the right mechanic to sort out performance issues with my 1973 GT 750. I suspect the carbs need careful tuning to the aftermarket pipes, but possibly complicated by weak spark. I’ve been tinkering on it for seven years and it’s time to hire a pro!

There's a shop in Austin that work on 2 strokes run by two guys that originally worked for Mototek the Aprilia dealer. Ed Cook and Micah Shoemaker. Good guys. The shop is AF1 Racing.

Or fit an ACCENT electronic ignition, new coils and leads and see how that perks it up. I can strip and rebuild those carbs. I have lots of spares.

But what specifically is the problem?
