Hi
I've just doscovered that my battery can no longer hold a charge. The gt380 battery is a strange size and it's not easy to find here in Lebanon. But a local dealer has one, but it's only 6A. I'm guessing this will work, no? Plz let me know your views
thanks
MJ

Same size battery the T500 uses. Easily obtainable here.....can even order from any auto supply.
Your dealer can't special order one?
Might try entering '12N7-4A' or 'YB7Y-A' into your search engine and see what pops up in your area. Aside from the actual battery manufacturer, Yuasa, there are a lot of different 'marketing' brands. Scorpion, Power Sonic....the list goes on.
If not, maybe try this route....

If not, maybe they can give you contact information for a local distributor that does....maybe a different brand...Scorpion, etc. http://www.itgholding.com/affiliate/11/ ... solutions/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"
Good Luck

If it physically fits ok, using a higher amp battery than standard should cause you no discernible problems and may in fact be an improvement.

Actually it's lower. the original one was 9AH and the one i found is 6AH. I can't imagine it being a problem, as the pull from the battery isn't that much on these bikes, but i wanted to see what the panel thinks...

I wouldn't recommend running smaller than the recommended 7Ah battery. It may cause eventual charging problems. Though it would work sufficiently to run the bike, you might find the battery would go flat more easily and the charging system would be put under more pressure, especially while you were running with headlights and other electrical loads.

Re: 6A battery ok for gt380?
I run a 4 AH battery in my GT750. I don't use the electric starter, so no problems.
If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.
