T500L

Post by johnakay »

been offered this bike but its in the USA they guy want $2500 .
by the time shipping cost added inc courier $1380.00 plus import tax declared value 5% = $170.
so total would be around $4050 which is near the price of a restored one which they sell here $6000/7000
not sure if its worth paying that kind of money.

I gave up on Photobucket & switched to Flickr.
The pic is working at the moment.

The T500 looks quite nice. I don’t see any rust & those tires look like they could be original. Is this an original that the owner has kept for years as part of a collection that gets no use?

last time the bike was on the road was a year and half ago.
so shouldn't have problem with crank etc
not much info.the guy took it as a part exchange .
he deals mainly with Honda's bikes.
any way I've decided to take it.
contacted both parties(uk importer ) so we'll see how things pans out.

From the pic it looks like he has some nice vintage British bikes too.

Looks like you found a good buy if you don’t mind the aggravation of dealing with import issues.

Shipping is very expensive.....I shipped Lincoln Limos for less than that !
You need a slot in a container with someone else.

Good suggestion. Here are links for UK companies that might have room for your bike.

TLM Imports ships vintage bikes from the US to the UK. Their next container is due in February.

And another UK company doing something similar.

Hey John,

Imgur image hosting site is free........at least for the time being.

Also, in case you or others were not aware, some are also downloading hotlink fix extensions to look at old posted photobucket pics not visible anymore.

Just google keywords 'hotlink fix for photobucket'

they guy who is bringing it over buys my grab rails.
I know him so no problem there.
we are just going to exchange my grab rails for the bike so hardly if any money will come from me.
all it will cost me is materials and labour.
he is well known in the kawasaki world,he took over from Rick Brett as he no longer ship them over.

Hard to tell from this picture. Is that an OEM grab rail, or one of those aftermarket ones?

You just beat me out of that bike! I live about 2 hours from him and he told me a guy in the UK gave him a deposit. Please let me know if you decide against it. I'd love to pick it up. Good luck!
