Just a quick introduction.

I have just acquired a 1977 GT380. When I was a lad I had some British bikes like my BSA B31 but a pal had a Suzuki Invader......it was a pocket rocket and I was completely jealous.

Wind on many many years and a whole load of bikes but never a Japanese stroker. I'm really looking forward to learning all about it and riding the bike.

The GT380 is in decent condition but still a lot to be done. Imported in 2011 from Italy so of the Italian specs - 384cc...hope that's not going to be a problem.

Anyway, have a BMW K1600 and a Triumph Explorer Xc, too so always something to ride.

I look forward to having a bit of banter with you guys and sucking in a whole load of your experience and knowledge.

Welcome to this forum. Its the right place to be with a Suzuki stroker. lots of people with lots of great know how.
I Race a TR500 replica in the Spanish classic championship and its been a great bike.

The GT380 is also a good bike I build a set of rear shocks for a guy in Italy earlier this year who does track days with it and I had a quick spin. it really has some punch and the standard classic works great.

Hi and welcome. Those 384cc Italian imports are quite rare over here. All it means is that the bore is 55mm rather than the 54mm of the standard UK bikes (i.e. it's using 1mm oversize pistons).

Things to do

Headlight rim needs replacing
Seat lock missing
Gear indicator not working - switch or receiver?
Ignition switch not original, but it works.
Steering lock missing.
Tool kit missing
Rear tyre needs replacing soon. Ok for now

The thing I need to get a grip on is how to identify exactly the right part codes for spares and where to go to get them. I have trawled the sites you have let me know about but a lot of parts are no longer available. I'll learn!

The colour is wrong...should be red with black side panels...but I prefer the gold.
Tank really needs some paintwork sorting, but ok for now.

You have the correct color & decal for a 1974, and have a later-model front fender.

You definitely scored a very nice bike. It looks quite nice as is.

Its usually the gear indicator display that burns out. Its not repairable and new displays haven’t been available for quite a few years. Most owners just ignore the bad display.
