Very similar depends a lot on which year of either is being compared. The odd thing is that later T500s seem to have porting like an early 750 and later 750s are like an early 500
750 rods are 125mm ctr to ctr IIRC and I was told that T500 are 135mm. Can anyone confirm that? I have used 750 rods I can measure again if needed.

I just measured a few used GT750 rods and can confirm that they are 130mm. Well they measured out to 129.98 but that's close enough I guess.
Dave: yes the same bore and stroke.

Holidays are over and married off my daughter, so it's time to get building a set of twin pipes. The single carb is staying though.

Tapered headpipes.I have never seen it done this way! But it works. I drew it together progressively starting at the small gap-with three hose clamps and welded about 1" increments, then moved the clamps down each time.

Very cool, I would also be interested in pics of the tacs and welding. How do you intend to use the tapered u-shaped pipes now, pie cuts?

I did not take any pictures of welding the seam or of the spigot install.I need to take the 2 into 1 pipe off, bolt up the headpipes and start fitment. It will be a while as I have a full schedule the next bunch of days.

Very nice approach. What did you cut the sliver with? Was it a thin cut off wheel on a die grinder?
