T500 oil pump killing me!

Post by RossB »

Hi gents
Here we go,trying to get oil pump working correctly 1st rebuild oil pump with Fred's kit
All new banjo valves (Kawasaki) lines primed and hung for a week no leaks. New oring
Style washers 6mm ($) primed with drill no air anywhere everything bolted up started bike
Pump pushing mostly air especially right side had to shut off so not to starve engine of oil
Just got worse the more it ran, even activating pump arm open.
I'm so close yet so far what next?
HELP!

Given you primed the pump and lines, then I'd go through the check list of suggestions on page 35 of the service manual. It is possible you have a small leak right on the pump. If you don't have a service manual, I have one on line on my web site at this link. 8)

If at first you don't succeed, just get a bigger hammer !

Thanks Ian
Re primed pump with drill couldn't get any air in lines ran drill for awhile no air looked great mounted it up to engine, ran good for a few minutes then a ton of air in right line left line fine. Going take pump apart see if I can do leak down test. It's to bad bike really running well. Thanks again!
