Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
I will post photos and parade number when all is sorted. As this is a once in lifetime type thing any photos or video that may be taken will be gratefully received. I plan to take some video as it leaves the starting line and then high tail it to the Creg to see if I can catch it there too.
Cheers Geoff

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
The good news is that I have a date to collect engine #1 (Thursday 9th July). It has been a long time coming but will have been worth the wait
.
The sad news is I am not going to be able to take part in the Classic TT Parade lap. The late delivery of the engine means I do not have enough time to build the bike back up/get it set-up on the dyno/get it track tested etc. etc. etc. The TT course isn't really a place to do your testing, the rider could end getting injured (or worse). Still going to aim for at least the last two CRMC races, do the TT next year when the Seeley T500 is properly sorted
Cheers Geoff

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
As an early birthday present to myself I have added another Seeley to the stable

All original, 1 previous owner, 8000 odd miles from new (1978)
Cheers Geoff (feeling just a bit smug

Finally received the new engine, just loosely slotted it in to the chassis at the moment but nice to see it being a motorcycle again.

Cheers Geoff

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
Geoff, and those on this forum who are of your ilk, I say God Bless Ya, for giving those of us (I assume I am not the only Dummy) who read in awe your interesting and often informative posts, like a novel. Personally I think I'm smart if I manage to start my old girl, ride for a few hours, restart, phew, and get home. But, I love her all the same, and hope one day I might catch up with you, giving her the beans on track, that's as a spectator of course.
So to all you truly smart Suzuki buffs out there, keep it coming, many appreciate the extra time you take to keep us informed even if we can't contribute..
*I tried to send a picture of Frank Melling's Seeley T500 from Anglesey Race Track a few weeks ago but says file too big?
Regards John

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer

We have spent a long day at the dyno today. Result, a strong AND reliable engine

Dyno Tech (Basingstoke) were a good bunch of guys

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
I don't believe EGT monitoring was an option. Air/fuel of course to adjust jetting. The porting is pretty conservative for a reliable engine but we already have ideas to add some muscle. Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
Well the 2016 racing season is rapidly approaching so I thought I had better get the Seeley changes registered on my eligibility certificate so new photos had to be taken. I know the tank needs it's proper packing but I forgot so that's why it's a on the slope lol.

Cheers Geoff

The local sign shop made up these tank graphics, I'm pleased with the result.
