Jemco pipe shifter clearance
Fitting up my new jemcos it seems the shifter pedal will hit the left pipe anyone else?

If that's the case. You can somewhat adjust the shift lever. Simply unbolt it and turn it upward where it attaches to the spline and retighten. I'm sure with a combination of that and you can probably reposition the pipes you will have enough clearance. You may have to add a spacer to the pipe mount where it attaches to the swingarm. Or fasten the pipe to the inside or outside of the swingarm mount. Which ever side allows enough clearance.

I had to rotate mine up slightly so I'b be able to get my toes underneath it. The price you pay for the symphony you're about to hear

cool. thanks. i cant believe my beautiful new pipes arent on yet, but excessive overtime at work if hindering my progress. guess i gotta make up that $. all i have left is pipes and radiator/coolant lines.

btw jemco pipes look really well made nice welds. jemco john was very proffessional and solid. cant wait to hear em. glad to buy from a small company like his

I like my Jemco Pipes, they sound good and they have been low maintenance. I'm experimenting with fiberglass mat rolled up around the baffles, which is the way that John shipped them to me. I had gone to traditional 2T packing but the noise level was higher.
As for pipe and moving parts, my shifter was not an issue. The first time my kicker came down, it put a ding in the left pipe, about the size of a small palm. It was sorta irritating but it was actually kinda period correct too, because I had an H1 with the same ding back in 1979.
John might be able to modify the way your pipe mounts, so as to avoid this. I'm not sure if it can be done with the center stand, and of course visual balance might be compromised.

Does anyone know of a product that'll take the stains off the headers?

On the GT750, the Jemco pipe clearance issue can be totally solved by using a late-model shifter shaft (the longer one) and an early (72/73) shifter pedal.
