This summer I'll get to test these rotors out on my Buffalo in Canada to see how the change in rotor material works with the rest of the stock parts. One of the first parts of the test will be to wet them and see if how the brakes perform, then again anything would stop better than the stock rotors.

Hey Allan,

These are some you made? What material did you use for the rotor? Looks good BTW!

Allan,

Are they cost effective for other GT owners compared to say a set of new EBC disks?

Thanks for the queries Jim and Richard, these rotors are an Ebay purchase that comes with a small centre hole and are pre-drilled as you see here. All I did was to remove the centre to match the GT boss dimensions, then drill nine 6mm holes and buy aerospace grade Titanium fasteners.

Even the holes in the boss line up with every other row of holes on the disc, so it looks correct as a drilling for symmetry.
They are also the correct OD and just a tad thinner than the stock GT rotor for comparison, but way lighter and a more useable disc material than the stock hard as rock stainless items.
I had to also 'clean' the bosses in the lathe after removing the oem rotors, as they were slightly out on lateral trueness. Possibly from overheating the rotors in the past or the riveting process, who really knows.
The two rotors cost me around $100.00 delivered to my door when I purchased them, so its way cheaper than any EBC item.
I want to keep the stock boss on a stock bike, anything else is too easiily noticable on the front wheel, and the EBC boss is just plain ugly on their GT rotors.
You will have to lathe your own centres out and clean the oem bosses for trueness if you choose to do this retrofit, but the cost for me was minimal and they should perform very well,,, we shall see.
