Think of it as a twin with an extra cylinder tacked on the right side.
With the crankcases in the right place and drive chain aligned, the whole top half hangs out to the right. Therefore, if the cylinder is centralized, the bottom end will move to the left including the sprocket.

right - having carefully positioned and chocked the frame in a position that affords the chain run 150mm clearance from the inner frame rib, the rear upper motor mount sits off-centre in the frame. But rudimentary measurements show that the mount is 450mm from the left frame casting and 250mm from the right.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't think this will have an adverse effect on the overall package. Do you, guys?
Dave - do you know, or can you check sometime for me, if your SRAD motor rear upper mount is central to your frame?
cheers !
Garry

Saw it yesterday. The man's mad!
When it's built though, it'll be a thing of beauty and wonder.
If he has time with all the other projects on the go!
Thanks for the coffee, natter and 'bits' Garry.

nothing exciting Dave - fabbed the new upper rear engine mounts, jigged the frame and motor to mark the mounting holes, drilled them then jig-fitted to frame to test for fit prior to welding. Work prevents me from dropping the frame off at my welders until week after next now - so slight delay in proceedings. Gives me time to ponder other potential problems - think I have solved the radiator location issue though, thanks to Kawasaki................

To pass time, and move the project forwards, I have spent part of my last 2 night shifts at work grinding-off the remains of the front engine mounting castings and weld to tidy the frame. A bit of filing and rubbing with emery cloth and it will be a lot neater. And lighter ! :D

Look away now if you are of a nervous disposition - to clear the new rear motor mounts, I had to relieve some more surplus metal from the Kettle motor. Who needs an oil pump cover anyway?

Thats all for now, folks - stay tuned !

I will use a Suzuki part Dave - the idea came from reading about a Kawasaki race bike. Like the rest of the project - it may, or may not, work. But I've gotta give it a go.................

"natter" - strange local dialect for "conversation"

"bits" - GT750 / RE5 front fork set and a fuel tap I had lying around and didn't want.
