74-77 GT 750 seat Cover?
After Christmas I would like to re do my 77 seat cover and have the pan cleaned and painted.
I have used covers for my Kawi triples from reproduction decals and 1 from Pit replica.
Andres covers go on very nice . Pit replica is very nice but I struggled to get a good fit.Hard to stretch But the covers are thick just like the originals. not the thin stretch type.
What seat covers have you guys used and really like?
The other option as advised from a buddy just buy a KnK seat and fit the trim.
Cheaper if I do it myself..lol

I did two M Model seats both using PitReplicas covers. I was very happy with how they turned out. They were a struggle to get on but nice fit.

Re: 74-77 GT 750 seat Cover?
I don't know where this seat cover came from as the previous owner restored my 550. But, by far it has to be the nicest seat cover I've ever seen on any GT model. It's very thick, soft and the ribs look awesome. I was thinking that maybe he had it done at a upholstery shop. But, it has the Suzuki lettering on the tail end of the seat. Exactly how it appears on the oem seats. Therefore, I have no clue who made it.

I just got a Pit Replica and it sure is purdy, but it's thick and I need to borrow some warm weather or a steam wand to stretch it to fit.

I do like the Pit Replica covers as they have the wire insert Plus when you lift the seat it looks good..rolled edges.

Re: 74-77 GT 750 seat Cover?
Mal - I've searched through my photos and don't have one showing the underside following an install, but I can tell you looks the same the original stock cover. The metal bead is there to give the metal tabs on the inside of the seat pan something to grip - just the same as was done with the old cover. I've bought quite a few of the PitReplica covers now - only disappointed once, and as that one was free I didn't have the nerve to complain ! You get a free one if you send them an old cover they don't have in their listings by the way. Their on line stire is at this link: http://stores.ebay.ca/Pit-Replica" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"
Now if your pan is badly rusted, and all those locking tabs are missing then you have a problem. There was a company in the UK selling a toothed strip that you could use to replace the tabs - can't recall the name but one of the UK folks will have it I'm sure.

Re: 74-77 GT 750 seat Cover?
I bought a seat cover 2yrs ago on EBAY from the vendor at this link;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-GT550-19 ... _636wt_758" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm satisfied with it. It installed using the OEM pan spikes, did not have a wire bead, but did have plenty of excess fabric to work with. It has held up well (still looks new), but does not have the SUZUKI text at the rear. Can't beat the price.
