Re: 86 GSXR 1100
I just dont get a break .. the 92 carbs fit right in ( after i put the correct intake in the right place ) but the swell deal K&N air filters will not fit . No room between the carb and frame left and right . Anyone have a 97~2000 Suzuki 1200 Bandit they want to switch over to K&N's back to ebay and looking at these MR-009 http://www.ebay.com/itm/350631548404?ss ... 1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; just twice as much as i paid for the K&N's

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
I am having a real hard time finding a filter set that will fit up to the 60mm carb opening and also fit the frame confines .. 2 different sets now and they will not fit

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Thanks.... but the problem i am having is the carb intake is 60mm and as you have seen the rack of slingshot carbs are close together so it really needs a oval / offset filter that has to fit between the intake and the frame . Something like this but these are 51 mm id http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-K-N-Air-Fil ... 85&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Well one more try to get something that will fit in , i have ordered just 1 of these http://autoplicity.com/products/406516- ... 4AodSFoASg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to see if the bend in the mount will clear the frame left and right and if it does get a second and then maybe 2 straight the same size for the 2 middle carbs . Yall wish me luck i think i need it

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Absolutely insane the amount of trouble these carbs/filters are giving you. It'll all be worth it though once the bike's thrashing the Dragon. Best of luck to you sir.
No really... it's supposed to smoke.

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
I know if i would have known the troubles these 92 carbs have caused me i might have searched for a set of stock carbs and moved on . I have a hard time believing no one had any advice on the Oil Cooled GSXR forum as to what works .. someone must have combined the parts before me ?

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Dave,
Would it help to attach some sort of hose to bring the filter location back to clear the frame rails? Or perhaps make up an airbox with a single large capacity filter in it/on it.

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
We are thinking the same thing Richard , i am going to have to make up a aluminum air box and get some 60mm silicone tube to attach it to the carbs .

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Silly question I expect but is it possible to make a stock airbox work with those carbs and different connector hoses? Maybe a combo of GSXR early and late or something equally Frankenstein?

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
Here's a 1200 Bandit air box that should fit right up to the 92 carbs but the space behind the engine where the Bandit box fits is filled with frame on the GSXR . http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-Suzuki-Bandi ... 0910141%26" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 1200 Bandit carbs are the same http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-97-98-99 ... 36&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: 86 GSXR 1100
And then there's the same engine in another frame " Katana " http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-Suzuki-Katan ... 8582082%26" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; BUT this engine has the smaller 86 GSXR carbs http://www.ebay.com/itm/89-Suzuki-Katan ... 95&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
