Bummer, Dave. I'm disappointed that we won't get to meet and see that bike of yours.

You really need to be there to see your/Kevin's pipes running.

I have ordered a set of drag bars to see if they are more comfortable at the strip. I love the fat bars for the street, but they are so high that I can't get down over the front of the bike and it's really uncomfortable with my shoulders.

I'm looking around the shop to see if I have enough spare parts to set up the bars for a relatively quick changeover from street to strip and back again. Of course I can't find a spare GT750 throttle assembly so I either have to fit new push-pull cables or fit a set of 72/3 zinc body slide carbs.

That might be an easier way to make the whole set up swappable. Only real down side is that I have to start all over with jetting and the BS40s were working just fine now. :?

None of this means that I'll run less slowly but it may cut my ibuprofen consumption a little.

I have also removed the O2 sensor and Air:fuel gauge. It was useful but at the track it's just another set of flashing lights that I don't need and the Trail-tech Vapor speedo/tacho is so hard to read that I'll fit a simple shift light instead and see if that helps.

R, I think you are going to find that different bars will make a difference in a number of different ways. :D

Dave, If I go to a couple of bars I usually don't feel anything

The bars are a PIA now. I wired the switches through the bars and they will both have to be replaced. The clutch lever can't come off because the switch block is in the way, so I need a new clutch lever. ....... And so it goes on. One thing leads to another.

For the drag bars, simple wiring is the way to go.

Boy are those old zinc bodied carbs heavy. 3 Lectrons or TMX MIkunis weigh in at more or less the same as ONE old zinc carb. But I don't have a lot of options in this class.
