8) Hi,Dave,I take it we are talking about the Split Head gasket here ?
I've seen a split head in the"flesh" here in Sydney,a very rare item apparently outside of Japan..any idea for its design, was it done to create more cooling capacity or what..?
Cheers,

It might have been more cost effective from the manufacturing end (avoiding the all-internal water jackets). I've heard rumors they were prone to leaks which might be why they were quickly superseded. Of course it's all guesses and rumors unless somebody speaks Japanese...

Someone here in Michigan has one. Very cool.
No really... it's supposed to smoke.

:) I wonder why Suzuki did this 3 models into production, & why only on domestic bikes ?
Japan is not a hot Country, unlike parts of the USA & Australia...that's if it was done as a cooling measure, after Suzuki dispensed with the fan, & it became an optional extra..Manufactures do things for a reason...would like to know what was going on with this one..? I should send an Email & see if I get a reply.. 8)

Regards.
