Leave it to the Canadians to come up with this one!

- Tolerance (the last virtue of a decadent society) -

Jiggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broad caster speaking in Orillia, Ontario, says;

"I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built in Toronto. I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy ", and the other a topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot."

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called "Iraq o' Ribs."

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret ", with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop, "Koranal Knowledge ", its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so their mosque issue would not be a problem for others."

That one has been around for a while. At first it seems funny and almost logical, but it isn't. It suggests that if non-muslims should allow a mosque to be built, then it's OK to bombard those muslims with things that they find offensive.

Islam is a problem for US Americans because in general we don't understand the faith and we certainly don't understand how a few no elected so called religious leaders can spread so much hate and cherry pick their book of faith to support that. We also have Cristian fundamentalists that do the same thing in that they cherry pick the old testament and ignore huge chunks of the New testament and the teachings of Christ that they purport to believe in. And there are Jewish fundamentalists that do the same thing and none of them is "right".

We fear the unknown and some individuals use that to their own political ie power advantage. I see no reason to give in to that.

Well.... I had never seen it before, therefore new to me. AND I thought/think the play on words is funny and ingenious.
