Hej
gt 550 m
I want to dismount the black cover around the tacho-speedo house, because i want to spraypaint it.
I can't really see how to dismount, and I don't want to spoil anything.
There are two small holes in front of the house. Do I need to unscrew here, and what kind of tool are necessary? Or do I have to unscrew the two nuts, holding the houses?
Thanks for answer.

The 2 nuts hold the gauge to the mounting bracket. The 2 small screws retain the guts of the gauge in the housing. Don't take those out. What exactly are you wanting to paint? Are your housings metal or white plastic?

I would like to paint the hole cover, black plastic. It has been painted with a brush, and therefore it's very rough. If possibly, I would like to dismount the plasticcover, for better painting, with spray.

It's not the houses itself, i want to paint, but the cover which is around both of the houses

Part number 22? If so. the gauges are held in by 2 screws each. Just remove them from the housing and set them aside. You will still have some wires to mask off. but that should be easy with some newspaper and tape.

Re: Gt550 m dismount tacho-speedo cover
Yes, it is part no 22
I was looking for screws, and I was not sure, I found the right. I saw only the small holes in front of the cover, (pointing towards the headlamp, and not seen on picture) and the two nuts holding the gauges.
But thanks for answer, I wil go for it tomorrow

I got the houses loosen, but all the cables are still fastened, (except the speedo- and tachocables) Maybe its to difficult to disconnect, and better to cancel? (But it would look nice with new paint.

Yes, there are many things to unplug. Most all of them are in the headlight bucket behind the headlamp. I cant remember off the top of my head, but there may be a connecter or 2 under the tank.
