74 buffalo petcock rebuild kit

Post by tech7734 »

I just bought a rebuild kit for my fuel petcock on my 74 Buffalo.

It finally arrived and I was pretty excited about getting rid of the small drip.
I took the petcock off, and apart, and found the provided gasket was too small :(

So I gave the petcock to the engineers at the office and they made a CAD drawing of the correct part size.
The CAD drawing was sent over to our in house production department and in less than 15 minutes, they made me the correct part.

If anybody needs one let me know.

I'm curious - what was the part number for the gasket you bought originally ? Suzuki still sells most of the petcock repair parts and there are two gaskets offered: 44376-31050 for early and then 44341-33150 for later, and I know they are different sizes, but I can't recall off the top of my head which was the larger one. The seal that normally causes the problem is not sold and is the small pintle o-ring but you can usually find something suitable at an industrial supply place.

44341-33150 should have been what you needed for your model at $1.63 from Suzuki if you are in the USA.
