GT750 modifications for rear disc brake

Post by jabcb »

A forum member asked me for some info about my GT750 conversion to a rear disc brake. I don't know much about the mods since they were done by the prior owner. Am posting the pics here so that others can provide additional info.

Pic of brake lever area. See mods to lever and cutout on footrest bracket.

Pic of reservoir from below. Use of pod filters provides for spot to mount reservoir & horn.

Pic of rear brake. Embarrassing, put the bike away for winter without noticing this little bit of rust.

I did mine a little bit differently - I had a bell crank made, and a bush welded into the exhaust hanger, used a Honda front drum brake linkage to connect the two and mounted the MC on the inside of the frame with a small fluids reservoir. I then deformed the back of the injector oil tank so the MC would clear. The small reservoir fits cleanly under the side cover and allows me to run the stock airbox. 8)
