So I'm looking for a good source of parts to restore/freshen one or both of the GT550 engines I have (a 72 GT550 and a 74 GT550). I'm in Mid-State PA (17756)
I stopped by our local Suzuki dealer (Ye Olde Cycle Barn in Hughesville PA) and was told by the parts guy in short order that the crank seals are NLA.
I've never had good experiences w/ this shop as I always feel like I'm treated as nuisance (only in there once a year for inspection) so I don't know if I was being blown off due to the age of the bikes or the temperment of the guy behind the desk.
Sources & Suggestions?
TIA~

Seals shouldn't be a problem - best thing to do is check an on-line parts fiche, but be sure you go to one that has the un-obtainium bits filtered out. Try this link:

Thank you!
I also found some parts listed on Parts Shark.

I'd also suggest checking http://www.ronayers.com with the part numbers you get off the other sites. They are often the cheapest of the on-line suppliers but they do not have on-line fiches running back that far.
If I had a dollar for every time the kid behind the parts counter told me the parts I wanted were NLA without ever looking anything up, I could buy another old Suzuki! Plus if I had five bucks for all the times they tried to tell me Suzuki never made the bike I wanted parts for, I'd have yet another old Suzuki. Nothing better than kick starting and riding off from the dealership on a figment of my imagination!
It got to the point before there were on-line fiches and discount web dealers that I would just feed them a part number and refuse to tell them what it was for.
