My bike is running crappy. It sounds like it's way out of time, but the timing is spot on. I am trying to test the coils. The book says it should read 4 - 6 ohms between each pair of wires coming from the corresponding coil. I am getting a reading of 39.2 ohms on all three. My meter only has a K ohm setting. Am I actually seeing 3.92 ohms? My meter is a very old (like 30 years) Radio Shack digital meter (Micronta).
It sounds like and feels like it's only running on 2 cylinders. But after a 2 mile test run, all 3 pipes are hot. I am 99.99% sure its not a carb related issue. I had them apart about a month ago to clean the gunk from the pilot jets. Thanks ethanol fuel . After that, it ran great. This just started a few days ago.
Edit: Who is a good source for plug caps?

Re: ohms verses K ohms
My son brought his meter over. It has a straight ohm setting. All three checked 4.8 ohms - right in spec. I think my meter is toast. I tried to show him that my meter was reading 39.2. Now it is reading 13.9. Time to upgrade.

Chris, Suzuki still have those plug caps so you can get them. I bought some last month and the price isnt bad; your dealers cost will vary.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Coyote, it might be worth checking the battery in your meter.

Re: ohms verses K ohms
Really sounds like the caps are bad. I have seen several have the resistors fail like that, when cold very hard to start, but hot was fine. On a pressure washer had to put a non -resistor plug in to start it, run for a minute, swap back to original plug and go. Changed plug cap, now starts with OEM plug fine. It also sounds like your meter is bad too......

Re: ohms verses K ohms
Chris, was the temperature the same each time you tested? Resistance goes up as temperature rises.
