List of oil pump woes....help appreciated!
1. After priming the oil lines with gold oil, and using blue 2-stroke oil in the tank, I cranked the motor (spark plugs out) using the starter motor. Holding the oil pump lever wide open, it was hard to tell if the oil was moving at all. Do I need to be spinning the oil pump faster to see any movement?
2. So I dismantled my oil pump as I wasn't sure it was working correctly (see Item 1 above), and in doing so ruined the gasket between the body and the top. I see that Suzuki does not list the gasket as a separate part. Any ideas?
3. I want to make sure I replace the pistons (one small/one large per Pink Possum's pics) in the correct positions in the "barrel". Does it matter which goes where?
Thanks!

Re: Oil Pump Blues
Hey, you live near me! Cool.
Don't have your oil pump answer though...took the one off my gt550 a couple years back and purged the lines by hooking up one of the pump style little oil cans to each line at the distro ring and pumping away.
I'll be parting out a 72 750 shortly but I think 72 was a different pump....

Re: Oil Pump Blues
Update - I solved Item 2. I discovered (from another post on this forum) that GTReiner supplies the oil pump gaskets. Reiner responded immediately to my email and new gaskets are not on their way from Germany. Thanks Reiner!
