Hello folks My name Is David.
I am rebuilding my 71 Suzuki T500. The inner seal went to crap. I got my crank rebuilt by "The Crankmaster" Was about to put it together when I noticed that one of the C clips that retain the crank is lost. I mean it too. I called John, Looked all around were I was working. I even spent 6 hours today looking through my Parts. I do have a spare motor but I want to wait to disassemble it as a last resort. Do any of you have a C clip just hanging around getting in your way that could be sent?
Please HELP

Thanks. Now I really feel like an Idiot. I never lost something I didn't have.
I have been working on T500s since 79 when I got my first. (and still have) Its been years since Iv been in the lower end of the motor. I still say I saw two C clips but the book says One, You two agree with the book. Maybe that's all I need.

It took about 8 hours to get them to look like this.
Scotch Brit pads, 600 wet sand paper, two different high speed cotton pads and green rouge

Disassembled and cleaned the carbs today. WoW What a mess. That 10% Ethanol gas sucks. Everything was stuck together. and spray Carb Cleaner really didn't cut it.
I have checked all over and we cant get real gas in New York anymore. This one place in Albany said they use an additive that masked or somehow reduces its negative characteristics. I can get Avgas 100LL. has anyone used it? I hear it is too slow of a burn

Hmmm.....now THAT assertion I've not heard before. You might want to try, say, a half and half mix of pump premium and avgas and watch your plugs closely. That and your "seat of the pants dyno" should give you some idea if it's feasible to go to straight avgas.

Hmmm....at the price of gas these days, I'd be leaning toward the 15 tooth item.....unless you're algore or Bill Gates.

R U kidding. This guy I know has a a Hayabusa and I talked him into racing for pinks. How am I going to do this with A 15 tooth I have a bunch of rear sprockets. I hear its a 3 to 1 ratio. For every tooth on the counter =s 3 on the rear

Hayabusa has around 175 to 194 hp. '75 T500 has 44 hp.
Tell him the race is for appreciation.
When you are done with the restoration, the T500 will be worth more than 3 times its original retail price. Will be worth more next year too.
I've been tracking prices: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4609
