After emptying the crankcase (some oil in the left side, about a thimble), I went for a ride; once on the freeway the bike does not smoke but once I get into stop and go traffic the left cylinder starts to smoke a lot... is there a ball/valve on the oil line (as on Kawie?). Me think it could be stuck open... Any idea?
Philippe
PS: any replacement part available for the oil lines?

Yes there is a valve but only to stop pressure going back. If its smoking excessively it can only come from one place, and I'm not going to say it because you don't want to know.

Phillippe,
Yes, one way ball valve just like on your Kawies.
New OEM replacements aren't available. Typically it's a 'buy another one and replace it' kind of situation from ebay or the alike. (less the others correct me).
It does sound like you have one open from the 'wet sump' condition you describe. Before you do anything else, check that all the bolts are snug, and double check for air in the lines. After that, put the lines and check them, but don't use compressed air/dry lines as that will wreck the ball valve.
I think I am having a similar issue, but I'm not sure if it is my lines yet, I believe it is the connection/bolt/washers, so I'm replacing the washers with a newer style. I'll call you when I pick them up (hopefully this week, if i have time) and see if you want some as well.
Cheers,
Jason.

Those ball valves seal in both directions. when the motor is running, oil pressure pushes past the ball. Crankcase pressure is prevented from flowing into the lines by the ball. But a bad seat or weak spring can allow oil to leak past the ball valve.
