gt500 vibration totaly cured

Post by james »

the vibration felt through the footpegs has been totaly cured. no nasa type explanation here, living in the south i have kinda let my wardrobe change. including footwear. since switching from polo pump,s with a 4mm sole to the trusty doc martens from my soccer hooligan day,s at coventry city football club all vibration through the feet has gone. so, now i can use my secret black project money on a set of stainless pipe,s it has never been better in TN

James, so you're saying a thicker sole did the trick? Is it made of a softer more spongy material?

i think wearing ultra thin designer pumps is a big mistake on a bike. but it was so warm, changing to normal rubber shoes or in my case the DM,S changed everything. i feel nothing even at the brief 6000 rpm range.

The DM soles are very soft and somewhat spongy so thats probably whats cured the issue.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

you are so right, i never get on a bike without a helmet and the trusty belstaff. but i do not own a pair of good shoes, untill looking in the depth,s of the walk in and spotted the DM,S under my trusty ben sherman and white stay press. funny i wore those on my 1st gt250 back in 77. HOW THINGS GO FULL CIRCLE

Hmmm.....so really then, all Titan owners should only ride in Doc M's for relief from nagging vibration.....or, maybe......upgrade to a 3 cylinder bike like a GT550, f'rinstance.

wouldn't just drilling out bolt holes in the footrest hangers and put in a rubber sleeving of sort do?
I had planned on doing that on my old bike but couldn't get hold of the footrest hangers as I didn't want to do it on my newly painted hangers incase it did not work.
If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership

Upgrade? You are funny. (although I would really like to try a Buffalo) When I don't want my fillings rattled out of my mouth I jump on the BMW K75 3 cylinder, smoothest bike I have ever ridden.

Yep, 7- or 10-hole DMs are the footwear of choice for the discerning classic hooligan :D are they black or oxblood?

got both black and oxblood, ben sherman is a little tight though, they are now my riding footwear of choice, cheaper than the smooth 3 cylinder, nobody up here in the mountains has ever seen DM,S might be risky wearing them localy, no shoes at all seems to be choice, i see guys daily speeding down the rd no helmet no licence plate no lights no shirt, NO BRAINS, AND NO SHOES, just the way it is i guess,

If you want a twin and no(or little) vibes, get a BMW twin. Of course old school (air head), that way you can have your cake and eat it too.

Even better is the new Triumph Bonneville T100.. Smooth as glass, reliable, since Lucas no longer powers them. It has plenty of power. Best of all, it looks just like a 1969 bike with the tank knee pads, pea shooter mufflers, and fork gaiters.. Even better is the 2 year "unlimited mileage".. I know its not a 2 stroke, but we can have more than one bike..

PS.. my GT750 is still my favorite

Allen .......Will ride for food !!

Allen, I had the pleasure of riding someone's very nice Triumph Bonneville last summer and I'll second the incredibly smooth feel / power. I bet you're making Triumph have second thoughts on that "unlimited mileage" warranty too. :) :) :)
