Just picked this one up.
Just picked up this beauty. I'm thinking parts bike. Rough condition, with a lot of missing parts, but motor spins over nicely, with excellent compression. Speedo is missing, so no idea of the mileage on it. VIN tag is messed up so I can't read the build date. Anyone tell me what year it is from the paint scheme. I'm thinking 74 or 75.

Re: Just picked this one up.
Judging from the model history page it appears to be a 73. http://www.suzukicycles.org/T-series/T500_models.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Just picked this one up.
Just found the ozebook frame # page. Yep, looks like its a late 73. Frame # 66358. Thanks for that. The round headlight threw me off. I thought the flat bottom headlight was used until 74, but looks like 72 was the last year for that.

Re: Just picked this one up.
tempting, but its missing A LOT of parts, and i have other T500's that could use some of the pieces from this bike. I don't know, i may change my mind, as all the critical stuff is there i guess. A few things off the top of my head its missing the airbox, batt tray, ignition switch, throttle, speedo, seat, rear fender, headlight, large dent in front fender, wirings a mess, etc.
Would take a lot of work to be rideable.........but might be a good platform for a custom or cafe bike. Hmm, now you got me thinking.

Definitely a 500K. Mine has the same colours and was built in 9/72 but sold as a 73 model. There goes all your spare time. Lucky bugger.wvc wrote:Just picked up this beauty. I'm thinking parts bike. wvc, I think I have just about everything you mentioned leftover from the build I just finished.wvc wrote:tempting, but its missing A LOT of parts, and i have other T500's that could use some of the pieces from this bike. It's all in about the same condition as the bike in the pics. Let me know.
