i won this today at the local bike show. it's the most complete bike i've ever bought. even the oil bottle is there.
paint and chrome are good, just barn find grime. break out the rubbing compound.
1965 k10 corsair.
You're kidding me? even the little white rectangular oil bottle is still there under the side cover with its strap? You did good, VERY good on that buy, it looks like some minimal work will get it cleaned up quite well.
Now I see the bike do you happen to have any of those tail lamps/brackets spare you care to sell or part with?
thanks gents,
it was a good score. i cleaned the carb, hooked black wire to black wire and she commenced to fill the shop with blue smoke.
the photo shows one mirror but at auction it had both so i'm road legal with one good one.
allan, the bottle even has the premix sticker. i'll look for a bracket for you. i know i have a spare lens and chrome base
but not sure about the bracket.
I dont know the last time I saw one of those bottles, it was years ago, a time capsule in itself. It has the decal too?? sweet,,, you got to take a photo of that and post it up for my Suzuki bike files collection.
When I got the parts from Geoff for my U70 resto that parts bike was from the UK with the HUGE rear number plate bracket combo mount.
I'd prefer the original little regular light bracket mount like the one on your bike, this way I dont have to drill an additional hole in the fender at the base lip to hold the extra mount down there.
Way to go, Dennis, you lucky rascal.
You don't find a K10 in that kind of condition these days.....at least nowhere that I know about.....and you WON it !!!

only eleven people registered for the auction so it was pretty easy.
only one other gent was interested. he was showing a triumph hurricane across the aisle from our cvmg display.
in the end it was 525cdn with a 50cdn fee.
i spent the afternoon yesterday buffing the chrome and put my apprentice to work compounding the paint beneath the tank and seat.
the luggage rack was a tedious job getting the grime off the chrome. it came out nice so maybe it helped preserve it.
the only part that isn't original is the fuel line and hopefully the replacement mirror i bought for it this evening.
Well well, CVMG eh? Our local chapter of the CVMG (RMS) is having a display at the local World of Wheels show this weekend. We've got about 20 or so bikes there for all to see. Two 73 buffalos, among the group. I hauled 5 of them there myself in my trusty van, and I will be there tomorrow, with a Tims in hand. What a national phenomenom that has become! Cheers.
