Hey guys.
I need to get the 'bowl' back on my 70' T500 oil tank outlet. How do you keep the pin in the cylinder while screwing the bowl on?
Do I need to take the whole thing off and install it upside down?
Thanks

Would it help if I posted a picture?
The pin is shorter the bowl, so if I insert it into the top half, (screwed into the oil tank) it falls out before I can get the bowl back on. Does the pin kind of float in the oil once filled? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I tried to post a pic from my phone but it was too heavy.
I took off the top half of the outlet that threads directly onto the oil tank. The pin drives right into the oil tank filter. If I place the pin into the filter, then screw on the whole outlet,(dry) and tap it, the pin will fall into the bowl.
So my problem is that I am not sure how the pin stays put once everything is connected and oil is added. I'm concerned that adding oil to the assembled tank/outlet will drive the pin into the bowl.
Does that make more sense?

Yes the filter is in place.
Is this magnetic pin part of the filter? That would make more sense.

Is this sort of what you have ? Do you actually have all of the parts ? That seal - item 13 - holds the filter tube (item 15) in place when its all bolted together. 14 is the cup seal.

How weird is that?
I have never had the outlet apart so I know I didn't put it in there, and it fits perfectly all he way up into the filter. If it wasn't meant to be you would think it would restrict oil flow. I guess I wont be putting it back in.
Thanks!
