Hi, the GT380 engine I'm building came in a box of bits and someone had taken the top part off the oil pump! There are 3 bolts that hold the top to the main body. I know the Haynes manual says there are no serviceable parts and I can't seem to find a top gasket on the web. Anyone know where/if I can get one or does it mean i will have to make my own? Thanks

I have not disassembled the oil pump before, as you stated the manual says it's not a serviceable part, but I don't see evidence of a gasket on mine. I'm sure more knowledgable members will chime in, but in a pinch you could get away with a good liquid gasket sealant, just have to be very careful in application as you wouldn't want excess gasket material getting clogged in the pump. If all else fails start looking for a replacement pump. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your build!

You can make your own from thin gasket paper - or you could send Reiner an email and see if he has one available - he does sell them for the GT550 and the GT750 oil pumps (they are the same - his part number 16110-31010-000-Z ) I don't know if the GT380 is the same also. His email (no web site) is gtreiner@aol.com.

Crag dog, oldjapanesebikes, thank you both very much for your replies. I've used a micrometer to measure the thickness of a pice of the old gasket and I might have a go at making my own or maybe just email the guy like you suggested. Once again, thanks for the replies. I'll post some pics when I get going on the bike build  Cheers
