front brake caliper rebuild gt 500 1976

the rebuild kit came with a small rubber part with an oblong hole in it.do i glue this to the back of the brake pad? am i suppose to grease the back of the brake pad? perhaps this rubber part is used on another model? ron

Hi,that little oblong bit of rubber goes in the hole that the pad stopper/holder clip attaches to...yes do add a little silicon or something to the back of the pad,careful not to get any on the braking face of the pad !
if you want to see a large drawing of the caliper & it's parts,google "Alpha Sports Suzuki" & look up year model & the part your looking for "Brake Caliper"

The Stopper/Pad holder clip is part num 9 on the diagram ,the little rubber has no number against it,but can be seen "top right" in the drawing,hope this helps

Something I assume you are aware of - late A's and the B's had two different front brake cylinder and master cylinder suppliers: ASCO and Tokico, and the parts are not all interchangeable.
