On My newly acquired 74 GT 750 the Speedo needle for some reason is now sitting at 20 mph instead of Zero.
It starts reading above 20 mph and refuses to go to Zero.
Is this type of Gage crimped on or glued?
The Speedo and assembly are in GREAT shape so I really just need the needle correctly positioned.
My other option is to send it away to .

On an original L gauge, the metal shell is held on with a crimped ring.

The zero offset could be due to a lot of things - something to check is whether the housing has been impacted or flexed, as if the gear case at the point the cable connects has been flexed, then you can see this problem. What sometimes happens is the bell and spindle get knocked out of line, and the bell will catch on the needle drive. 8)

Thats a problem that will need some investigation to determine why its now resting at 20 mph and not at zero. Some detailed photos showing the base of the gauge should be help for me to know if the cable spigot has been damaged in some way, but I believe theres more going on than just that issue.
