Suzuki 2 Strokes

I seem to remember someone (Allan?) a while back talking about how to repair the vent but couldn't find the thread. Mine's been acting up.

I just wanted to close out this thread. On the bottom of the fuel cap there's a stamped plate with 2 vent openings on the sides that in my case were both clogged. I ran a strand from a brake cable through them, then sprayed them really well with a cleaning solvent and blew them out with compressed air. That appears to have fixed the issue but time will tell I guess.

What happened, when this problem occurred ? Im assuming the tank started to make strange noises. Due to poor ventilation of fuel vapors.

Hey Justin. Not exactly. On the highway at sustained open throttle the bike would actually cut out like it was running out of gas but switching to reserve wouldn't improve anything. One day I thought to open the fuel cap when the problem was occuring and sure enough the engine came right back to life. That happened a few more times over the course of last season and led me to believe a clogged fuel vent was the problem.

Good info to remember for anyone that runs across similar symptoms. Sounds like the same exact behavior when these bikes are running on a less than fully charged battery.
