Newtronics ignition

I just replaced my points and condensers , I checked the timing with just a timing light, it was off , anyway I have the timing marks lined up withe the mark on the case and it seems to run good except right cylinder was pretty far off, it's on now but it kinda sounds like the timing is still off, but it runs good. I guess I'll have to get the dial gauge,. Then I saw a newtronic ignition for sale and I bought it, and crap it's expensive! I hope I did the right thing buying it, My question is how hard is this to set up? Do you still need a dial gauge? To set timing? Or can you use the timing light?, also has anyone had problems with these? And is it set one cylinder and the other two are automatically done like some other systems? Thanks for the help, I'm just going to run the bike till it doesn't want to run anymore before I tear it down, hopefully by then I'll be doing better.
