I got my new 69 T500 MkII barn mobile up and running. After all of the expected metal dipping of the tank, carb rebuild, new battery, points/condensor, plugs, petcock rebuild, oil chg, It Fired First Kick! And to complete the whole resurrection experience.........pink insulation, twine, string, shavings, nutshells....start to barf out the right side pipe. Sorry Chipmunks etc... So I'm completed the classic resussitation. So the bike sounds tight!

But wait it won't barely take any throttle, maybe slow up to 2500 max and churning exhaust out the back. Very Very Rich! After many carb settings/jets/needles/float height etc, etc Basically the same end result.

So here is what it now does; Fires right now w/o any Choke, with a lot of throttle cable tension since the idle adjust screw is way out of range, to get the idel to 2000rpm, it settles in at 1100-1000 rpm, with air pulses coming from the ass of the carbs and fuel misting. Still very rich. I can get it very slowly to rev to 5k maybe and will take some throttle but mucho exhaust.

What are your thoughts? Blown Crank Seals? Or something else?

Could be the float levels are incorrect. There is a little spring loaded plunger on the float needle. This must not be compressed when setting the float height. It is sometimes necessary to hold the carb at an angle to keep the float tang from pushing in that little plunger on the float needle. Also make sure your pilot jets are squeaky clean and free of any build up. This includes the cre-oss goles and the through hole.

Also check the crankcases didn't fill with oil from the oil tank draining into the cases from years of sitting.

Pressure test for blown seals and then re-clean the carbs, again and then get all the settings to stock

And you need to make sure that the exhausts are clean and no more blockages, mud wasp nests or corn kernels stored for the winter.

Is there any way to drain the crankcase?

I have set the float heights several times/several ways and tried my best to be sure that the free play was taken up but no spring depression.

Of note the Ozebook site says float height of 27.25mm and the Mikuni Carb spec for a 32mm says 22-24 mm measured from the base to the cross member for the float. I saw several places which say to measure the height from the base to the top of the float cans. Thats a BIG difference in float height. The first method gets better results. I tried a 27.5 pilot jet and moved the needle down to no avail........I have ran a couple of gallons of 93 octane throught the motor trying to get it right. So maybe the C-Case is clear of any extra oil by now if that was an issue. When the bowls start to run low due to tank emptying ir rev's like a banshee! I have a Pingel petcock on the way as I do not like the rebuilt stocker and it won't shut off as the diaphragm must be hosed.

Tempted just to get new replacements but with new floats, xtra jets, rebuild kits I have 100.00 in the original ones already.

Well I got an ol' 2 strole mech to look at my bike and he figured her out. Like some have suggested I had the left slide in the right carb and vice versa. I had verified that the cutouts were facing the rear but that apparently does not matter? Good news is it turns out other than that the carbs and the bike run great. I have a Pingel Petcock on the way as the ol' factory one even with a eBay r/b kit just won't work right.

So on to the Pod filters and some chambers.

How much in US dollars will a set of Titan chambers run me? and others? Not looking for any bling just some either black or not coated at all.
