I have a 73 GT250K that is in pretty good condtion. I have a couple of issues that I need some direction on.

Tail light doesn't work but brake light does. I verified the bulb(s) that I tried are good. My thinking is to look at the connections starting at the flat 3 pin under the seat and then work my way back to the harness next to the battery.

Gauge light sockets have no power. The nuetral light and high beam indicator do work though.
There was a mix of 12v 3.4w and 12v 1.5w bulbs in there. Which goes where?

Right side turn signals don't work. My guess is the switch in the handlbar pod. I've looked for a replacement (its the a real switch as opposed to a switch bar and contacts). Any ideas or is it possible that the flasher unit could fail for just one side?

In looking at the oil line that feed the crankcase I'm really not confident that they're filled with oil. How can I asertain that they are indeed providing oil to the crank? I say this because they don't seem to be the dark color of the oil in the CCI tank.

Finally,

I'm looking to have the gauges completely reconditioned. I hear there's a guy here that is just about a magician. I need to hook up with that guy after I get all these other items sorted.

I put a little about myself in the You and Your Bike thread as an intro. Being around these old Suzukis is like coming home. I swear if my garage caught fire, I'd tip my Harley Road King over so I push my GT250s out :mrgreen:

If you look in the "services" section, Suzsmokeyallan is the man to redo your gauges.
No it is not possible for the flasher to fail on one side only. Normally this is caused by a burned out bulb in the front or rear of the problem side. Bulbs of insufficient wattage/voltage will do the same thing. The flasher relies on current draw to make it activate.

Thanks Coyote! After tracing all the wires from the tail light and turn signals with no luck I found a bad/intermitent connection at the main fuse section. Boom, everything works as it should electrically. The bike has just shy of 6000 miles and has been well cared for. I'm lucky to have found it in such good shape.

I'll contact SmokyAllen re the gauges. That will go a long way toward making the bike very nice.

I'll have to do a little more research on the oil lines thing. They do have a blue tint to them but its not as pronounced as the bigger line coming out of the oil tank. I'd like to be sure I'm getting oil in the lower end.
