What would you do with this brake hub?

Post by husky99 »

Got my 72 GT 380 back on the road, cleaned tank, carbs etc. Noticed front brake wasn't working too good. Took it apart and found these spider web cracks. Thinking about going to a late model disc brake, as these brake shoes are hard to find. Anyone know of any late model brake setups that would be easy to retrofit (besides the 73-77 setup).

The 72 GT380 had the same brake hub as the T250/T350. You could lace up a T250/T350 brake hub to your GT380 rim.

For much better stopping power & same level of coolness, you could upgrade to a 72 GT550 4LS front brake.
The 72 GT380 & GT550 used the same front axle & axle nut, so I think the front wheel likely is interchangeable.
Maybe someone else could confirm this.
